Vote!
Don't forget to vote for your choice for the GOP 2008 Presidential nominee in my straw poll over on the right (where else would it be?).
If you have already voted, you can vote again, as often as once per day. This is your incentive to come to my website every day!
As they say in Chicago, vote early and vote often!

Not that I particularly trust the Statesman-Urinal as a source, but have you seen this:

Governor's race may get crowded
Many candidates considering run to unseat Kulongoski
BY BRAD CAIN
The Associated Press
June 27, 2005
With a new statewide poll showing tepid voter support for re-electing Gov. Ted Kulongoski, a number of Democrats as well as Republicans are considering a run for governor in 2006, and some are openly criticizing Kulongoski's leadership style.
----
In the June 8-14 survey of 481 voters, 33 percent said that they would be likely to vote to re-elect Kulongoski, and 42 percent said they would be likely to support someone else. The rest were neutral in the survey, which had a margin of error of 4.5 percentage points.
Maybe Gov K's hold on the job isn't quite as solid as first thought.

I will vote for the one that will put an end to illegal aliens as well as have a plan to get the current millions that infest our country to leave.
I will also vote for the one that will return the sanctity of private property!
Probably many other issues, lol.

Haven't you heard? Our new illegal alien problem is that we don't have enough of them at the moment - strawberries are rotting on the bush because their aren't enough pickers.
Time to reform the labor laws concerning those under age 16... and let them work in the fields.

I predict the first credible candidate to take a hard line stance on borders and immigration will sweep the primaries and be our next President.
As for Ted... those polls are meaningless at this point. We're over a year out from the election, and it is very common for polls to show generic distrust of the incumbent. So what if only 30-some percent say they want to re-elect Ted? None of those are Republicans. Many are democRats who may not be satisfied with Ted, but come next November, given a choice between Ted and some Republican, will vote for Ted.
The more important number is the 40-some percent that will actively support another candidate. These are almost all Republicans. In order to actually BEAT Ted, we need to be breaking 50% on the "vote against" side.
Ted will get some nominal opposition in the primary, easily win nomination again, and will then be an extremely formidable candidate against whoever the Republicans run. Our best chance at beating Ted this time around is for Republicans to shun Kevin Mannix and put up a more moderate centrist. This, of course, is better than Ted--but still far from what we conservatives really want.
The only way we can get a real conservative in office is to abandon 2006, let Mannix disappear, and rally around a fresh face for 2010.

Come on Gully, how about putting Tom Tancredo on that presidential list!!
As for Oregon Gov we need Jason Atkinson!
Posted by: Daniel | Monday, 27 June 2005 at 04:42 PM
Atkinson is currently getting low single-digit support. But if he can get a good campaign staff and make a name for himself... then maybe.
As for Tancredo... can you name the last person to go from the House to the White House? Neither can I. Tancredo needs to be a governor first. Then we'll see.
In the meantime, if Tancredo is your man, then vote "other."

That's why we need common sense in the Oregon Governor's seat.
Screw Mannix. He's a crook.
Screw Saxton. He's a one-trick pony
Say a prayer for Atkinson. He can't win.
My vote for governor is the one I've held with since day #1, although this person does not want the job.
I think Jeff Kropf would be good for the job of governor, given his track record and his common sense work with his constituent base.
Now just trying to persuade him to run...that's gonna be tricky.

Kropf is a great guy to try to recruit...
for 2010.
2006 is reserved as the swan song for Mannix, hail to the thief!

I see you left my senator, Chuck Hagel (aka McCain Lite), off the list. It's just as well. He probably couldn't outpoll "Other" anyway. Go Condi!
