Left wing victory spells doom for right wing bloggers!
I say this because political bloggers tend to represent the extreme of either side. The extremists on the left won last night. They will lose big time when Lieberman (or worse, the Republican) defeats Lamont in the general election. The mainstream democrats will blame the far left bloggers. After Lamont loses in November, the DNC and Leadership Council will crack down on the bloggers, big time. Logically, wouldn’t the mainstream GOP see this as a sign to distance itself from its own blogosphere fringe in 2008?
The real winner of last night just might be John McCain, who is popular with the public in general, but must overcome opposition from the right wing blogosphere and other more radical fringe groups in order to win the nomination.
And if McCain doesn't win the GOP nomination, beware the McCain/Lieberman independent "unity" ticket in 2008...
