The Empire Strikes Back
And I am not talking movies. No, I am talking about the Soviet Empire, the Evil Empire. The Evil Empire that is rolling tanks across the border of its neighbor in an expansionist grab for land and power. Of course, there is no "Soviet Union" anymore, right? Now it is Russia and they are our friends.
Hah!
When the Russians put Vladimir Putin, an ex-KGB officer, in charge, they signaled to the world that the glory days of the Soviet Union were coming back. Now Putin's right-hand man, Medvedev, has taken over titular control of the nation, but you know full-well Putin is still pulling the strings and moving forward with the rebuilding of the U.S.S.R.
By the way, did you hear about this invasion on the mainstream news? I doubt it. I saw nothing about it on conventional TV news. No, we only heard about the Olympics, John Edwards, and missing pretty white children.
Why the silence? I have a theory:
It is still a dangerous world out there. There are still superpowers that don't necessarily like the existence of the United States of America. The last thing the left-wing media wants to do right now is point out the obvious, when their annointed Obamassiah is so vastly underqualified to be Commander in Chief of the United States during a time of potential international crisis. The other last thing they want to do is give voters a reason to take a second look at McCain, a seasoned veteran, a war hero, a man of international experience going back to the height of the Soviet threat to the Western World.
Be very, very afraid of the mainstream media. Their silence is deafening.

Yes, this is a serious issue. There's a full-scale war going on, with Russian tanks and fighters invading Georgian space. The Russians claim to be defending the oil pipeline, but they are in fact openly engaging the Georgians.

Meanwhile, today is the day John Edwards decides to address the affair issue, stealing all the headlines... coincidence?
Hah!

We would all like a world where all the players found perfect rules of conquest to live by. Our world is shaped by evil that want to enslave all.

Hey!
Why do you present only one side of this story? Or it's american democracy to be so unfair?
Please tell only the true information of this situation. We are not gonna separate the territory of S. Osethia and Abhasia! The georgian forces are the first who did so inhuman invasion. The first attacks were from the Saakashvilli, not from Kremlin.
We don't need any wars in this region! But for more fairness, what was in 90th in former Yugoslavia? Were some american people living there?? I think, not at all! But now we got the agression against people with Russians passports and we still want to save the balance of forces in this region, georgia and america - on the contrary, want to find the occasion to present Russia as fierce neighbour!
Please, make the fair conclusions!
There is enough information, but there isn't enough truth!

By all means, provide more information. And welcome far away readers!

yes, the anti-democratic, kelptocratic US empire totally ignores the crimes of its puppet on the Black Sea, the Georgian government. The Georgians were the origional agressors by engaging US-style 'shock and awe' against Ossetian civilians.
And the US, wisely, will stay out of this fight--because the Russian Bear would kick the McDonald's eat'en fat asses of the empire's brainwashed armies.
I say a war crimes tribunal in Moscow for US puppets--the Georgian President being the first; the US president being the second (because he essentially approved of the military attack by Georgian on Ossetian civilians).
Come on over McDonald-eaters. This ain't Panama your playing with.
Some how I think you fat asses will stay glued to your couches--armed only with a tv remote, cheez-wiz, and crackers.
Putin just punked Bush and McLame.

did I miss something, or is the comment above this one completely devoid of anything approaching a rational statement?

Nope. The guy above your post, Gully, has no comprehension. Though I keep thinking he was trying to say "Satan eats Cheez Whiz."

If United States of America went into our neighboring countries and stayed until all the drug lords were gone or we decided what form of government they should only have there would be angry reaction and subversive groups in our own country letting us know about it.
