OK, now a serious comment

OK, there is a lot of chatter out there about the Nobel Peace Prize being a racial issue.  O supporters say opposition is racist.  Some O opposers say it could be an affirmative action award.

To all these people, I say, "bunk!"

The Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to men and women of all races, nationalities, colors, creeds and religions.  Here is a brief list of just some of the winners:

Yasser Arafat

Desmond Tutu

Mother Theresa

George Marshall

Nelson Mandella

Kofi Annan

Kim Dae Jung

Jimmy Carter

Wangari Maathai

Ang San Suu Kyi

Lech Walesa

Martin Luther King

Seriously, now.  Does that look like a non-diverse group?  There is NOTHING racial - in ANY way - about the selection.  There should be nothing racial about the analysis.

Obama did not win for being black.  He did not win for being the first black President.  You can think his win makes a mockery of the prize without being a racist.  You can believe he has done nothing to deserve the award without being racist.

It's funny... all the "experts" out there said the election of Obama ushered in a post-racial era.  Now Obama wins a PEACE prize, supposedly for showing the potential of all of us gettin' along, and people from all directions are bringing race into it.

And now, the 2009 Cy Young Award goes to...

Obama will win an Emmy Award when He reads His Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech from the teleprompter on live TV.

Obama will win a Grammy Award for His connection to the now famous video of singing school children going "mmm mmm mmm."

Obama will the Academy Award for best special effects for appearing to deserve more awards.

Obama will win a Tony Award when He gives the next State of the Union address live from Broadway's Majestic Theater.

Obama will win the Pulitzer Prize after announcing a deal to write His "next" (as opposed to "first") book, documenting how awesome He is.

Obama will be named class valedictorian from Oxford University on the great potential He shows as a possible future student.

Finally, next year, Obama will win a second Nobel prize, but this time for Physics, for His role in the groundbreaking new research into the "nothing equalling everything" grand unification theory.

What. The. Hell?

Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize for less than twelve days of work.  This is not a joke.

I believe we can now OFFICIALLY consider every other award of this prize as meaningless.  Of course, some of us said that when Carter won.

Wow... now Obama REALLY IS another Carter!
