I am thinking of getting out of the blog business.
I don't post much anymore. And few people come here looking for updates. And I feel quite powerless. And hosting this costs money.
Is ANYONE reading?
Does ANYONE care what I have to say about ANYTHING?

I do! But I understand about hosting costs... maybe look at free blog hosting like Blogger?

Well if I do shut down, I can at least keep the archives posted for free. I may do that. I don't know. But I just don't really post anything new worth reading.

My honest opinion, Gully, is that you take 6 months off. Take a rest, see how you feel, then maybe see if you can get back to things in time for the elections.
In fact, I'll contact you soon about an idea I just had...

Gully, I read everything you post. I have you on my feed reader, and I always read.
I'm on Blogger because it's free...and it's pretty cool now. But, do what feels right to you.
If you switch over, let me know, okay?

I just barley found you and added you to my google reader account. don't leave me now! :)
Wordpress is free and really good.

Your call, but I have valued your content in the past. Quite a few of my favorite blogs are currently undergoing a little burnout. Maybe Yomi is right - take a bit of a sabbatical and reevaluate.

Wordpress also hosts for free, and they have fun bloggy software.

I read you each time you post. I second the recommendation to move to a free service such as Blogger. It's much better than it was a few years ago.

Currently going through a patch of activity that tends to cause a certain neglect of blogging.
So?
It's free. (For me.)
I have been adding some linked posts--basically relying upon the work of others--to present something new on my place.
There are original articles written, and in a shambles, but I simply must spend my time doing other things, rather than attempting to polish a piece. Or, even slap together a piece.
But, I usually check here daily. And, in the past, you've gone without posting anything for some fairly long pauses.
But, when you return, it's a nice addition to my day. Think about going to a free service and post whenever you wish. As the tempo of the political season increases, I'm sure you're going to be re-energized.

Gully, my son, I check and am sorely saddened when I find nothing. You are *such* a great source, but I know what you mean. I've been spending tons of time on FaceBook, where I know more people read me than on the blog. But I need to get back to blogging more, too.
