Fellow NW conservative blogger Daniel has done some homework on Senator Atkinson. His record on the issues looks good. Like Daniel, I want to know where Atkinson stands on immigration. Not that a spotty record on it will change my vote (so long as the choices remain Atkinson, Mannix and Saxton, with the winner taking on Kulongoski or someone more liberal), but because, if Atkinson does take a strong stand on borders and illegals, it will elevate his stature among many of my peers.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: putting a stop to illegal immigration will be the number one issue that changes the face of politics for a generation.
I'm becoming a single-issue voter on the illegal alien issue as well. Atkinson is very good on guns though...

Well, sounds like Starr is an excellent candidate for the "teach the GOP a lesson about how we feel about illegals" plan.
