I was going to lead today with the announcement of a new website that would allow users to search through conservative/Republican websites. But instead, I am sad to say that the new website has already been viciously attacked and taken down by a saboteur:
At 1:14pm CST pm August 29th, 2005 The Grand Old Portal was hacked by an experienced hacker. The hacker deleted the entire index of websites. We are working on resolving this issue right now and hope to have the portal back up and running within a few short hours. We appreciate your patience with us during this reboot. We have also created a system now that will hopefully help stop this from happening in the future.
Obviously we made someone upset.
Obviously, indeed.
Hopefully, by the time you read this, the links here will lead you to a fully-function Grand Old Portal and not the message you see above.
This just goes to show that the enemies of the conservative movement, the same people who always claim to be tolerant and inclusive, are exactly the opposite. They fear truth. They fear thought. They fear free expression of ideas. Why? Because they know they can't win on truth, thought, or free expression of ideas. They know that, when educated consumers of political philosophy have all the information before them, leftism goes down to defeat every time. The "intellectual" left is built on a foundation of lies; truth brings it crashing back down to Earth.
That is why they must do everything to stop a resource like Grand Old Portal from going on-line.
So much for tolerance...
Sounds like the Grand Old Portal got a well deserved, and needed, lesson in security.
Would it have been better if someone had instead snuck in many times, changing information instead of blowing it away?
Be glad these people have no sense of subtlety.

True.
But at the same time, what you are saying is like saying of a murder victim "at least she wasn't raped and tortured first."

Yes, we did learn a big lesson in security. We thought we had the system secure enough but I guess we just simply forgot about the type of people we are working with. We now have better security and we are also backing up the portal every 30 mins to make sure that nothing is lost. If in the event the site is hacked again we will be able to correct the problem within a few short minutes.
The portal is back up and running!! We had website submissions are coming in like hotcakes. We don't see any reason that we won't make our goal of 10,000 websites listed by Jan 1st, 2006.

GO Portal: You are abandoning a huge readership when you blogroll "Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation". The Schiavo controversy briefly tore the Right apart, and the damage would have been permanent except for the death of Schiavo.
By bringing up this divisive element, you are saying that you appeal only to Christian Conservatives. There are lot more of us un-christian conservatives out there that you alienate with this decision.
The churches may be a strength of the right, but they are only one of many. You highlight them at the peril of your success, sir.

Ye call thineself a member of the un-christian Conservative right, yet in your posts...you talk about prayer and God like you actually mean it.
Which religion is it? Christianity or Non-Christianity?
I think the post above me is a spoof. Someone taking someone else's name and attaching an uncharacteristic post.

Sorry you feel the way you do ... while yes it was a big issue in America ... I don't think it was a big issue with Republicans ... especially after the facts were revealed. The bottom line is that a person who was not brain dead was murdered by her adulterous husband and our court system. A system that we knew was corrupt after the OJ trial but yet was never fixed.
