Back when I was a political science student at SIU, I complained that the Daily Egyptian, the student-run newspaper, was dominated by left-wing radicals. I suggested that they feature some writing by a student with an alternative outlook (conservative, for those of you in Palm County) to balance things out. In other words, me. But they told me that, since I wasn't a journalist, nor a graduate, I wasn't "credible" when it came to political speech.
Keep in mind, that was from a paper that, for two years, ran regular stories about a little girl who didn't exist and her fake father's experience in the Iraq War.
So here is what I did get published back then.
MORE: the apology.

Great blog, great job David! I wondered what you were up to lately...
You won't believe the number of people on campus though, liberal and conservative both, that have seen this coming for a long time.
The chickens have come home to roost.

Unbelievable. No, what am I saying? Totally believable.
What I can't get over is this student "journalist" now says he's not a con artist, just an idiot who fell for a con job. For two years. 'Cause being a con artist will hurt his job prospects, but being an idiot--well, I'll bet he's got offers already.
