I have created the Jason Atkinson for Governor of Oregon Blog Network. Look along the right-hand sidebar and you will see it.
I took the liberty of including a few blogs I am pretty sure are onboard. If you would like to have your blog added to this blogroll, here are the rules:
1) Copy the script below and place it on your blog.
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="http://rpc.blogrolling.com/display.php?r=ca8c47cb3777320a3bd0b4697882dc21"></script>
2) Next to the blogroll, place a relevant picture or button. I used this photo from the Senator's legislature web page:
3) Link that picture or button to Jason Atkinson for Governor of Oregon.
4) Include a link to this post, so your readers can find out how to join as well.
5) Make sure all the above is easy to find on your blog! And put some sort of label on it, so your readers know what the blogroll represents.
6) Send an e-mail to the blogroll address, including the name and URL of your blog, expressing your desire to be included.
It's that simple!
Update:
Eugene Rant has provided code that includes a hosted photo. Just copy/paste this into the HTML for your sidebar:
<a href="http://www.atkinsonforgovernor.com/"><img style="BORDER-RIGHT:

border="0" /></a>
<span style="color:#ff0000;"><br>Click on the photo to go to the Atkinson

<br>Click <a href="http://gullyborg.typepad.com/weblog_archive/2005/09/more_help_for_a.html">here</a> to learn how to join the Atkinson Bloggers Network.
Thanks! If you get a lot of traffic, you might want to save the photo on your own server, and modify the code as appropriate. We don't want to suck up all of Eugene Rant's bandwidth. And make sure you still follow step 6 above!
Another update:
In addition to providing HTML code, Eugene Rant is also giving instructions to BLOGSPOT users on how to add this code to your blog. If you are a blogspotter, read this.
Important disclaimer: I am not in any way affiliated with the Senator's campaign, nor am I compensated in any way for this. I am merely a concerned Oregon voter exercising my rights to Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Association in support of a cause I admire!
Already done.
Let's get hittin'!

I don't get the procedure...
I did endorse Jason on my blog back in April however... so if that is what you are looking for...
Posted by: Coyote | Tuesday, 20 September 2005 at 05:44 PM
The procedure is to join the blogroll. You put the blogroll code on your blog, and in return you get your blog added to the blogroll. Thus, reciprocal links are created, boosting blog traffic.
If you want in, shoot me an e-mail and I'll add your blog to the blogroll.

I'll have a one-shot cut and paste up by tomorrow evening.
Posted by: Bob | Tuesday, 20 September 2005 at 08:47 PM
Thanks Bob! I added a link back to this post to your code, so anyone using it should automatically refer their readers back to this page--hopefully, readers will want to join and this will snowball until we get most of the conservative blogs onboard.

I'm in... although I'm concerned about the ethics of voting for a Republican for Governor who wasn't previously a Democrat...
Isn't there a state law against voting for actual Republicans?

Please check your facts DANEquerus. Senator George has not to my knowledge come out in favor of Jason Atkinson. You could show me where I'm wrong, however.
You should check with him first hand to find out where he stands and why he maybe is another rock solid conservative colleague who has yet to endorse Jason.
You heard the most principled house member, Jeff Kropf (and also real good friend of Jason) endorse Saxton today. The few principled members of the legislature who are not or havent endorsed Jason is deafening.
Hopefully Jason will grow thru this experience and become a full time dedicated Senator with firm proposals to show himself a true leader. IMO, he's not ready for the post.

Oregon to OK same-sex unions?
Bill expected to pass Senate today, but likely DOA in House

Though a bill to establish same-sex civil unions in Oregon is headed for likely passage in the state Senate today, opponents of the measure are confident it will die a quick death in the House of Representatives.
SB 1000 would give same-sex couples benefits similar to those of marriage. The bill also includes language outlawing discrimination against homosexuals in jobs, housing and public accommodation.
The Oregon Senate consists of 18 Democrats and 12 Republicans. Two Republicans who co-sponsored the bill likely will vote in favor and potentially all the Democrats. The bill passed the Senate Rules Committee June 23.
Said Senate Majority Leader Kate Brown: "The Oregon Senate will be making a very important statement about prohibiting discrimination in this state and providing all of Oregon's families with stability and security."
If the bill becomes law, Oregon would be the third state to establish civil unions. Vermont has civil unions and Connecticut will begin offering them in October. Massachusetts is the only state that allows same-sex couples to marry.
Pro-family advocates are confident, however, the civil-unions bill will be dead on arrival in the House of Representatives, which is controlled by the Republicans.
"It will never be heard of again," Cheri Adkins, an aide to Republican Sen. Jason Atkinson, told WND. Atkinson voted against the bill in committee and planned to do the same on the Senate floor.
Even the homosexual website 365gay.com reported the bill's chances in the House are "slim and none."
GOP House Speaker Karen Minnis has said the civil-unions section of the bill violates the state's constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.
Republicans charge Democrats with using the bill as a tool to curry favor with the homosexual community, all the while knowing the measure wouldn't see the light of day in the House of Representatives.
"This bill is just for show," Adkins said.
Oregon Family Council has been active in opposing SB 1000.
"The bill is pretty flawed in that it literally changes or amends every marriage law in the state," Mike White, executive director of the organization, told WND. "In some cases it actually removes terms like 'husband' and 'wife' and replaces them with 'spouse.'"
White noted last fall Oregon voters approved by a 58-42 percent margin a ballot initiative defining marriage as between a man and a woman.
"Another concern is the bill gives minority-status protection to sexual behavior," White said. "That's disturbing to us."
White contends homosexuals in Oregon are not discriminated against, saying the bill's proponents couldn't cite one specific example during committee hearings.
The activist agreed the legislation amounts to a "political favor" because proponents know it has virtually no chance of becoming law.
Democratic Gov. Ted Kulongoski supports the bill and has said he would sign it if it reached his desk.
