Since Kevin Mannix made sure you can't get any more of these, how about printing up one of these for your car:
I fully support Jim Torrey in his bid for Senate. But sometimes I sure wish he had just remained the Mayor of Eugene!
I am a Renaissance Man!

I suppose now you will be voting for Hillary in 08 because the White House wouldn't let ITS seal be used inappropriately too?
C'mon, buddy. To be pissy over something like this belittles the great stuff you do here. I agree with the party's decision...he was in charge of it and protecting it.
Maybe your particular cause was good and your particular use of the elephant was for a worthy endeavor (though I think a Red Star or Hammer and Sickle might be a better logo when discussing Kitty).
But with all the wack jobs we have who call themselves Republicans and have causes that might reflect poorly on the party, the party chair can't allow people to use the official seal for unofficial things. And if I had a vote on the central committee, I would make sure that he didn't give permission to do so, because HE DOESN'T HAVE THE POWER TO DO SO as chairman. That logo belongs to the party, and only the committee could authorize its use for non official functions.
To then be so bitter that you are an "anybody but Mannix" vote, again, it lowers you, and it de-legitimizes, I think, your support for Atkinson into some sort of children's sandbox dispute. And frankly, the quality of the rest of your work here suggests you are better than that.

I opposed Mannix long before this. And there is no comparison between the White House and OR-GOP: the Onion was using the logo to actively assault the White House. The "not my mayor" activist was using the logo as a Republican, against an enemy of Republicans. Mannix handled the matter poorly. He should have embraced the activist and pledged GOP resources to assist. And Mannix absolutely had the power to endorse the activist, with or without the rest of the committee. With his word, the rest of the committee would join in. That's what leaders do. But he wasn't fit to lead the party. That's why he isn't fit to lead the state now.
