It isn't just SEIU anymore. More and more big unions are dumping on Ted, and either joining the Jim Hill bandwagon, or staying out of the race. And when Kulongoski survives the nomination process (he will, but it will be ugly), expect all union support to go to Ben Westlund in the general election. This will help a conservative GOP candidate (be it Atkinson, or even Mannix to some extent). But if we nominate Ron "fire all the union employees" Saxton, then expect every union to rally around Ted -- and to bring in the big guns from out of state. This is one more reason not to invest in Ron Saxton for our nominee.
The same thing happened in 2002, read your history books. Remember who won?

Statistics show that 65% have married a American citizen after 7 years in the country.
That equals 7.8 million illegal aliens that under existing laws can not be deported even if they are hardened criminals and are currently in Prison, wife beaters, and even child molesters.
Along with perfect forged documents industry, the illegal aliens have lawyers who council them to mingle into society and find a American to marry.

Captiol 3 Republicans.
The people who suport Saxton collectively refer to his "presonal
assurances"
that this time he really really means it when he says he will suport our
platform.
But Saxton has been for and against or halfheartedly for the issues that are
important to us. Partial birth abortion he claims he has been consistent, he
hasn't. Now he says he will support a partial birth abortioan ban if it
happens to cross his desk as governor. It won't ever cross his desk if the
governor is not out fighting for it. And he wont.
But abortion, scourge that it is, is not the sum total of state government.
I agree that remaking government attacks the cause, not the symptom. But Ron
Saxton is not the solution, he has been part of the problem - assisting the
likes of Neil Golsdchmidt and his cronies (of which Saxton was one) to fill
their pockets with State money, regardless of who was hurt. He has no
explanation for switching sides in the PGE buyout deal the very day
Goldschmidt was hired to represent them, other than they were all going to
make a boatload of money off the deal. The honorable man who sticks to his
principles politely tells his friend that he is already committed to the
other side, not switches sides, and then represents his friends when it is
shown that they manipulated the state treasury to line their own pockets.
He has been for and against tax increases. He said this weekend he was
"proud" of his accomplishments on the school board, but was simply
outvoted.
Really? How did you vote on the golden parachutes when you hired Ben Canada,
or those of questionable hires like Steve Goldschmidt and Diana Goldschmidt?
What was your vote, Ron? Did you vote against them? Did you demand that the
contracts were made more sensible? Did you ever go on TV and tell the people
how the teacher's unions were destroying public education? Did you ever
demand publicly that we stop focusing on wharehousing kids and making sure
they are politically correct, but rather trying to see if we can get them to
point out the US on a map by the time they are out of High School?
Why was last saturday the only meeting of the Republican party that you have
been to in years when you say you want to lead us? Why did you do NOTHING to
help President Bush, save for giving money,
and with Kevin Mannix we lost 2 campaigns in 2004 with kevin Mannix we could have had
betsy close in 2004 for secretary of state and kevin Mannix did not support betsy
so we lost two campaign Senator jason Atkinson was backing betsy close in the 2004
campaign
Ben westlund is def.a Big Rino republican in name only first he runs as a republican than
this year he runs as a independent he is basically supported by basic rights of oregon
here is a letter I recieved from him

Oregon State Senate
Thank you for your email regarding Senate bill 1000. I fully appreciate that this is a deeply personal issue on both sides, that leaves precious little ground for compromise or conciliation.
Please excuse my delay in getting back to you, but as you can imagine this is an extremely fluid situation and changes are being made all the time. Civil unions and nondiscrimination are each very complex concepts and we have heard from many of you that these concepts should not be together in the same bill, I agree. To give you a better opportunity to give more specific input, we are introducing a separate civil unions bill with all of the nondiscrimination language removed.
As you know, it's my responsibility as an elected official. . It's my job in a republican form of government to represent the public interest. I am sworn . . . something I take very seriously . . . to uphold our state Constitution that includes the recently passed Ballot Measure 36 and Article 1, Section 20, that states No law shall be passed granting to any citizen or class of citizens privileges, or immunities, which, upon the same terms, shall not equally belong to all citizens.
Because of that Constitutional provision, the passage of Measure 36, which I supported, has created a situation where we must act to extend the same rights, not marriage, to all citizens . . . and the courts will probably order us to do so! Let me say again . . . Measure 36 did not address civil unions . . . it specifically and only addressed same sex marriages. Of the eleven states that voted on same sex marriage, eight included civil union prohibitions, three did not. One of these was Oregon.
As a proponent of civil unions and of Ballot Measure 36, there is a major misconception I would like to address that civil unions overturns the will of the voters on BM 36. I want you to understand that civil unions are not marriage by another name. Civil union partners will still be denied several of the privileges of marriage including employer-based healthcare coverage, federal joint tax filings and retirement benefits. Those who say gays and lesbians can seek recourse through legal avenues are not taking into account:
* The additional cost of $5,000-$7,000 and the financial barriers of setting up such options.
* The fairness of requiring some of our citizens to go to exceptional lengths to receive some of the rights granted to others.
* Civil unions, unlike marriage, will not be valid if they leave the state
What is in a name, everything. In 1953, Ray Kroc paid $2.5 million for the McDonalds name even though he already had the business model . . . the name was important. If you line up 1000 married spouses and 1000 civil unioned partners and they were given the chance to switch, I can guarantee you that few, if any, of the married couples, and all of the civil unioned partners would…. Why, because names are important, they convey identity, feelings and image.
Furthermore, the campaign to pass one man, one woman was very specific in their representations about civil unions. In short, as indicated by the quote below, the pro-36 campaign not only didn't oppose civil unions, they advocated them as a legitimate alternative for same gender couples should BM 36 pass.
Same-sex couples should seek marriage-like rights through another avenue, such as civil unions. Tim Nashiff, Oregon Family Council Director and organizer of the BM 36 campaign, Bend Bulletin 8/20/04
Im not saying that his quote reflects your position on civil unions. But it certainly was the stated position of the pro-36 campaign and that's what you voted on. The organizers of the campaign, Kelly Clarke, Chief counsel for Defense of Marriage Coalition, Georgene Rice, their spokesperson and Mike White, the Oregon Family Council executive director, in quote after quote, including pre-recorded phone bank messages, all said the same thing, civil unions were okay. . And it wasn't coincidence, it was part of the campaign message, It was something I took to heart . . . and that you should take seriously.
And please don't think that my position on this has somehow changed, it hasn't. I have consistently supported civil rights for gay and lesbians Oregonians. From the Employment Nondiscrimination Act in 1997 to my public and front page support of Bend's nondiscrimination act last summer. During the last election, the Bend Bulletin Voter Guide and the Project Vote Smart questionnaire all document my consistency on this issue http://www.vote-smart.org/npat.php?can_id=BS034677
Thank you again for sharing your concerns . . . and though we do not agree on this issue I am happy to continue this discussion should you have other questions!
With regards,
Senator Ben Westlund
this letter ben westlund wrote just before measure 36 got to the floor with karen minnis he thought he had won for gay rights but he didn't Karen Minnis vetoed the bill in the house floor.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, our support for this election is going to go for Senator Jason Atkinson. We feel That Senator
Jason Atkinson has the best values for the Oregon Republican Party.
Thanks for giving us your time.
Gods blessings.
