Even if you don't follow sports, you know Lynn Swann:

But if you aren't from Pennsylvania, and don't follow politics, you might not know that Lynn Swann, NFL Hall of Famer and television personality, is running for Governor. As a Republican.

Don't think for one moment that Swann is just some dumb jock, trying to keep his name in the spotlight years after leaving the playing field, by running for an office beyond his mental capabilities. I've seen and heard Swann, not just as a sports commentator, and he is a bright and articulate thinker.
Oh, he writes, too:
Seeking a new way to reach voters and to answer criticism that he has been vague on the issues, Republican gubernatorial candidate Lynn Swann on Wednesday unveiled a new campaign weapon: A book....
The book, titled "A New Direction: My Plan for a Better Pennsylvania" - similar to a slogan the Rendell administration has used, "Plan for a New Pennsylvania" - will not be found in stores. Instead, Swann plans to distribute it on the campaign trail and sell it through his campaign Web site for $10.

This is a great move by Swann. I wonder where he may have gotten the idea? Too bad he can't give them away for free...
Yet another example of the racists at the GOP setting up a token black man in an election he can't win, in order to say "look, ma, we's got us a colored folk in ah pahty!" without, you know, risking a black man actually holding power.
And when they do manage to succeed, like J.C. Watts, why do they seem to always end up dissatisfied and leaving the job?
Did J.C. Watts really want to move on to other things? Or was he unceremoniously dumped, told by his WHITE controllers that "he done served his pu'pose" by giving the Party of Racism a token to point to as an example of its "inclusiveness"?
Why is it that the great GOP hopes in electing black americans always seem to revolve around has been former athletes? What, no professors? No doctors? Just, as you put it yourself, "dumb jocks." Like all blacks are good for is running with a ball.
"Look ma! That niggah sure can run!"
Lynn Swann has sold out his people in order to enjoy another 15 minutes of fame on the WHITE man's dime. While he is running for governor, children of Color are dying in disproportionate numbers in the illegal war in Iraq. What is Lynn Swann doing to end this war for oil, this war fought with the blood and tears of African, Hispanic, and other americans of Color, whose only crime was being raised too poor to go to college without selling their lives and souls to the military-industrial complex, lured in by the WHITE man's promises of a "gi bill" and other bribes?
Lynn Swann says he supports our (s)elected president bush -- but like Condoleeza Rice, and Colin Powell before her, he is nothing more than a House Slave, the well-groomed niggah allowed to bring guests the tea and biscuits, while the poorly-groomed niggahs toil in the soil, doing the WHITE man's work to feed their mastuhs, while they themselves are forced to survive on scraps.
Yeah, Lynn Swann, that's the example our African children should look up to. And I have a bridge in Baghdad you can buy...

I'm surprised that "Harry" didn't mention that Swann is an "oreo" or an "Uncle Tom," nor comment on his skin not being "black enough" (you know, only the light-skinned slaves were allowed in the house).
You're slipping, Harry...

Well Harry,
The GOP probably attracts ex athletes because Black athletes learn through their journey toward excellence that hard work and
and a positive attitude are the most useful and individually controllable factors that lead to success. Why wouldn't they want to spread such a message? Of course the Lefts message is that there is no hope or opportunity. That the "system's" against them, and that only defiance is acceptable.
Who's house are you stayin' in?
