I don't usually post things from Terpsboy, because the site usually isn't fit for polite society. But once in a while, a gem shines through the filth. Check out the LEGO Aircraft Carrier:

I've been all over his site and can't find an e-mail address for him. I tried using his contact form, but kept getting errors. I tried leaving comments on his posts, but for some reason they keep getting lost in spam filter hell. And I've even tried sending trackback pings that never show up. So I have absolutely no way of knowing if aaron has ever received any information from me regarding the deck o' bloggers cards. So if any of you readers have any means of getting aaron's attention, please send him a link to this post about my place in the deck. Thanks!
The votes have been cast, and it looks like I am (probably) a member of the Deck o' Bloggers Cards! I say "probably" because bonus points have yet to be assessed. I should pick up some for participating in aaron's mapping project. But others probably have as well. Plus, there may have been bonus points from top-blogs giving nominations. So I really have no idea if I will make the final cut, or how high up I might be if I do.
That said, even if I do miraculously climb up higher from bonus points, I still doubt that I will manage to capture the Jack. But that's not such a big deal. I am amazed enough that so many of you voted for me as it is, and happy just to be part of the deck. However, I do have hope for being high enough to claim the 7. So, if I can, I'd like to reserve the 7 (even if I earn something as high as the 10). Why? Because the Second Amendment is one of the major focuses of my blog, and the 7mm Remington Magnum is my very favorite rifle round.
The nicest rifle I ever owned was a pre-'64 Winchester 70 Super Grade in 7mm Remington Magnum. It was beautiful! But alas, it was also a gift to me from my (then) wife. After we got divorced, I just didn't want it anymore. I ended up selling it, for far less than it was really worth. So now, I am without a 7mm. As such, being immortalized with a 7 of Spades card, photoshopped to incorporate the 7mm Remington Magnum rifle theme, would be truly special to me.
And now, my final beg...
Should I place within the Deck o' Bloggers, but not as high as the 7: if you are one of the fine bloggers who has won a spot ahead of me, please consider accepting a different card so that I may have the 7.
Thank you everybody!
Time is running out to vote in spades for the blogger deck of cards! It looks like there is very little chance of my getting the coveted Jack of Spades card, but I'm still optimistic about landing the 7 (mm) of Spades... but only if you click on over and vote for Resistance is futile!
Voting is still going on for spades. I had a good start, but now I'm slipping behind. If you haven't already voted, go vote for Resistance is futile!
Remember that Deck of Bloggers thing I mentioned last week? Well, voting for Spades has begun! Please take a moment to vote for Resistance is futile!
There is going to be a deck of bloggers! I'd like to go ahead and toss my name in for the Jack of Spades.
A jack is kind of like a knight. He's a warrior. He's the kind of guy who would best represent the blogger who brought you the weekly Carnival of Cordite. Plus, I am a Large Mammal. In fact, I have flirted with Playful Primate status a few times.
I'd actually have preferred Jack of CLUBS. But the rules say clubs are reserved for active milbloggers. While I am a veteran, and while I do a fair number of posts that relate to the military, I don't think I am focused enough on milblogging for that. Therefore, spades seems like the best alternative.
A spade is a tool. As we know, I was once named tool of the week. And a spade is multi-functional. It is both a farming implement and a trench warfare weapon. I like it.
So all you readers, I am asking you for one simple favor: echo this request! Get over to Aaron's and toss my name in there for the Jack of Spades!
I would also happily accept a 7 (a 7mm Remington Magnum, that is!).
And while you are at it, consider a few other choices:
Queen of Hearts should be SondraK. Why? Well, she has that nice heart-shaped... well, if you read her often, you know where I am going with that...
Queen of Diamonds should be Sarah K. Why? Because she is the IMAO t-shirt babe and is about to be married. Marriage = diamonds. Get it?
Speaking of IMAO, Frank J needs to be nominated for something. Here I am torn. On the one hand, he should be honored with a mighty face card, like a King or something. On other hand, since he aspires to be the top satirist of the blogosphere, maybe he should be a joker. I think it would be fitting if he and his nemesis, Scrappleface, got the two jokers of the deck.
And I support Countertop in his bid for the 2 of Diamonds!
Those are my thoughts. Feel free to nominate anyone you like for anything. Just make sure you actually do! Go and vote for Resistance is futile!
Cats!
And Puppy Blender hasn't done much carnival linking this week... perhaps readers can e-mail him and remind him about these (plus the Carnival of Cordite!).
These Nuremberg children are fitting the final pieces on what is believed to be the world's largest jigsaw puzzle. Nuremberg was the home of the great Renaissance artist and mathematician Albrecht Durer; his painting "A Young Woman From Venice," was the inspiration for the 900-square-foot puzzle.
I am a Renaissance Man!
