The Tide Has Turned

Folks, this here is what we call a "tipping point."

Yes, that is the actual cover of Newsweek - NEWSWEEK! - that hits stands tomorrow.  You can read it online here. 

This marks the first time I can think of that a major establishment news source has printed anything remotely like this - even though millions of readers and viewers agree.  The mainstream press has been completely in the tank for Obama - and suffering nightmarish declines in ratings and readership as more and more regular people recognize the partisan cheerleading for what it is and tune out.

It starts with Newsweek.  This will be a big selling issue.  And now that the dam has started to crack, other news media sources will start to publish their own hit pieces on Obama, in order to keep up and remain relevant.  Thanks to Newsweek, now other sources can run critical pieces without sticking their necks out to be first.  And this comes on the eve of the Republican National Convention, which will provide plenty of fodder.

Momentum has shifted - big time.  Write this day down in your history books.  This is the moment that Obama's fate became sealed.  He will lose.  Now the question is no longer "will Obama get re-elected?", because he won't.  Instead, the question becomes "how big a victory will the Republicans have?"

Predictions

Obama will win an Emmy Award when He reads His Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech from the teleprompter on live TV.

Obama will win a Grammy Award for His connection to the now famous video of singing school children going "mmm mmm mmm."

Obama will the Academy Award for best special effects for appearing to deserve more awards.

Obama will win a Tony Award when He gives the next State of the Union address live from Broadway's Majestic Theater.

Obama will win the Pulitzer Prize after announcing a deal to write His "next" (as opposed to "first") book, documenting how awesome He is.

Obama will be named class valedictorian from Oxford University on the great potential He shows as a possible future student.

Finally, next year, Obama will win a second Nobel prize, but this time for Physics, for His role in the groundbreaking new research into the "nothing equalling everything" grand unification theory.

What is it going to take to wake you up, people?

ACORN is now busted on a FOURTH VIDEO.  In this one, the happy ACORN community organizer is giving the "pimp and hooker" tips on not just cashing pimp money in for a successful political campaign, but also seducing male bank executives, getting the most out of underage illegal alien kiddie hookers, oh, and hiding the bodies after killing people who get in your way.

Do you think that is a stretch?  I don't.  It sure sounds to me like she confessed to premeditated murder of her husband after framing him with false claims of domestic violence.  I mean, sure, you can interpret that conversation however you want to... but that is MY interpretation.

And the scary thing is... the film makers have hinted that even bigger bombs are dropping soon!

Don't know what I'm talking about?  Well, if you don't watch FOX News, listen to conservative talk radio, or read conservative websites, you haven't heard about any of this.

And what is ACORN doing now?  Why, changing its name, of course!  Yes, it will now be "Community Organizations International."  Well, either way, it is still a COMMunity organization IntErnational group of America-hating leftist criminal thugs.

And NBC?  ABC?  CBS?  New York Times?

THE SILENCE IS DEAFENING!  Will ANY of these "news" sources take notice?  Will any of them follow up on ACORN as it tries to hide under new names?

This is an organization that created Barack Obama, and which - as far as all objective evidence suggests - is writing our legislation and setting our policies.  It is an organization that has already received tens of millions of OUR DOLLARS and which could potentially receive BILLIONS of "stimulus" dollars.

And every indication is: corrupt, criminal, dangerous.

WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE?!?!?!?!

Will anyone in the federal government take action?

What about here in Oregon?

Does ACORN receive any Oregon taxpayer dollars?

Has anyone in government bothered to ask?

Did ACORN have anything to do with any of the big bills passed this session?

Why isn't there a RICO investigation underway?

IS ANYONE ELSE EVEN ASKING THESE QUESTIONS?

The complete and total blackout of all of this in our traditional news media is frightening.  This is the sort of media compliance with a corrupt administration I would expect out of the old Soviet Union or NAZI Germany.

Yes, I went there.  What else am I supposed to do at this point?

Ladies and Gentleman, meet the new face of the revolution:

Representative Joe Wilson from South Carolina, who made the unprecedented move of calling the President a LIAR - not just on television, but during the President's nationally televised address to Congress and the nation, is a hero.

While weasels like McCain are calling on Wilson to apologize, I salute the man for having the balls to tell the truth - and the truth is, illegal aliens WILL and DO receive benefits from Medicare, Medicaid, and other government programs under current law and under proposed reforms.  There is NOTHING in any bill supported by the President or Congressional democratics that prevents illegal aliens from obtaining benefits.

In normal times, I would agree it is wrong to disrespect the office of the President - but these are no longer normal times.  The President has already socialized banks, the auto industry and insurance.  Now he wants to take over the health care industry without even reading a bill.  In earlier times, colonies declared independence and states went to war with each other over issues like this.  And so, the time has come for people to be willing to stand up and shout the truth.  Protocol be damned!

Besides, it not like he threw a shoe at the man...

Wilson just went from a political nobody to up near the front of the line for the nomination to run against Obama as far as I am concerned.  His resume is actually pretty good.

Bad timing

Not that there is ever such as thing as good timing for screwing up so badly...

Seriously, when you and your department are under a lot of scrutiny because you are publishing a pamphlet that might encourage veterans in bad shape to commit suicide, it is probably not a good time to accidentally and erroneously tell 1,200 of those veterans they have Lou Gehrig's disease.  I can only imagine this mailer:

Now, my concern is, how do we know it was painted there by a right wing hate monger, and not by some freak out to get attention who just wants us to assume it was done by a right wing hate monger?

I mean, no one would ever try to mislead us using something so hateful, right?

Bottom line is, while I am sure there are some right wing hate monger racist kooks out there causing trouble, I also believe there are far more people on the left who so want there to be right wing hate monger racist kooks causing trouble, that they themselves commit these crimes to manufacture outrage.

So whenever you hear about this stuff, always ask what evidence there is to suggest it really is the result of Republicans, and not the result of left wing racist hate monger kooks looking to stir up trouble...

Things that I hate

I hate websites that unexpectedly throw noise at me.  Usually I keep my PC on mute, because random sudden noise - almost always from ads - pisses me off.  But sometimes I want to listen to music on my PC, so I turn off the mute.  Then suddenly in the middle of a song I hear some loud voice start demanding that I refinance my mortgage.

Shut the hell up.

And it's not like I can just direct my browser to keep sound off - after all, I go to many sites, like YouTube, where sound is sort of a good thing.

I wish everyone who made websites would keep all sounds OFF until I actively click on something, like a "play" button, where I could reasonably expect there to be a resulting noise.

Also, I hate people who can't keep noises at a consistent level.  I hate cranking up the volume to hear one video, only to have the next video drive my speakers into clipping.

Brutal murder by a domestic terrorist

The news today is tragic.  A good man is killed by some stupid radical extremist.  A person is cut down, just because some insane home-grown terrorist disagreed with the victim's profession.  OK, the victim was controversial, to be sure.  But that is no excuse - especially when, your personal political beliefs notwithstanding, he was doing a job that mainstream America supports.

We must not succumb to the temptation to consider the murderer a hero just because some people think he was justified by his beliefs.  No, we must not condone this action.  We must outright condemn it.  We must call the act what it is: a terrorist attack on American soil.  We must prosecute the murdering animal just as surely as we would prosecute Osama Bin Laden himself.

Unfortunately, I fear that not everyone will see things as I see them.  I can almost hear some people rejoicing.  Well, the hell with them.  I cannot, WILL NOT allow myself to be associated with those people.

Of course, you probably think I am talking about the murder of the abortion doctor.  But I am not.  Although everything I said applies in that case as well, this post is about another act of terrorism, one you probably won't hear about in the mainstream media today.  I am talking about this:

New U.S. Army soldier William Long was gunned down at a recruiting center in Arkansas.

Police in Little Rock, Ark., say a man who likely had "political and religious motives" shot two new Army soldiers, killing one, at a military recruiting center.

Political and religious motives.  The parallels between this and the Tiller murder are stunning.  Except no one in the mainstream media is saying diddly squat about the recruiter killing.  No one in the mainstream media is calling it a terror act.  No one in the maintream media is blaming left-wing news programs for whipping up anti-military sentiment.  No one in the mainstream media is demanding the left disavow and condemn the killing.

No one in the mainstream media gives a shit.  And do you know why they won't say squat?  Probably because they don't want anyone to blame things like religion or ethnicity in this crime - they save such things for conservative Christians only.

I am sorry for Tiller and his family.  You can apply everything I wrote in the opening of this post to the story of his murder.  But the left had damn well better apply the same standards of decency to the islamofacist terrorist asshole who opened fire on a military recruiting center where patriotic Americans were doing their duty.
