Resistance is futile!

The time has come to retire this blog. For real, this time.

At this stage, "Resistance is futile!" has forever run its course.

I don't use it for anything, other than a place that has some links bookmarked.

Occasionally, I go back and reference something - but those moments are fewer and father between.

I just need to move forward with other things, and say goodbye to the blog.

So... what to do?

Readers may have noticed: I almost never post anything here.  It is not that I am inactive.  It is simply that almost all my posting is done on facebook these days.  It is quicker and easier and I have a much better sense of who is reading and responding.  Downside is: not much in the way of creativity for posting larger articles with multiple images and other attachments.  But then, such posts aren't quick or easy.  So... the dilemma...

Do I continue to keep this site running?  Or just put it out to pasture?

Blogrolling back to fully operational soon

The folks at blogrolling are working on it.  I am going to put the blogrolls back up now, although they may be tempermental.  I believe it is safe for all of you to do likewise - but of course I will be checking regularly to make sure there are no problems.

Blogrolling update

The front page hack is gone, and I can access other pages directly, but the "news" page says the site is down for maintenance.

Looks like progress is being made, but not ready yet.

DANGER! BLOGROLLING HACKED!

As far as I can tell, very few are reporting this so far, so it must have happened in the last few hours.  I e-mailed Instapundit, so hopefully he will read it and pass it along.

I went to add some links and found the front page hacked by someone claiming to be a voice for Islam, but probably just a raving anarchist.  Here is a screen capture of some of what is there:

I checked pages other than the front page and they appear normal, so if you use an internal page from a bookmark, you might not see that the site is compromised.  I for one am NOT going to log in or use the links for the time being.  I want to see that the site has been secured before the blogrolls go back up.  I suggest you do likewise for security.  I will be taking down blogrolls as soon as this is posted.

UPDATE: I see several blogs reporting it now.  Many are saying it was "Islamic Jihad" but I don't think so.  I think this was probably a pissed off teenager looking to make trouble.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

I'll be spending some time changing things around here.  You know, updating old themes, fixing what's broken, etc.  You probably won't see much new content for a while, as I will be focusing mostly on formatting and such for a bit.  But keep checking in, and please leave "constructive" comments about things that will make your future blog reading more user-friendly.  And, be sure to scroll down below this post (which will remain on top for now), just in case I do manage to squeeze in some new material.  Thank you for your patience!
